Motor
Insurance
is one of the most commonly purchased forms of
insurance, with over 20 million cars on the road in the UK. There are many different
rating factors which effect the final price of a car insurance when an company assesses
the potential risk involved. Consequently, no two clients are likely to be rated the
same way. For example even two people driving similar vehicles and living in the same
street may be charged different premiums simply because one is garaged at night the other
is not.
As insurers have different prices, benefits and cover limts, the
levels of cover available will not be always the same and to ensure that the policy you
select provides the cover you require, you should always make comparisons. |
Third
Party Fire and Theft
Third Party Coverage as well as cover for the vehicle following loss or
damage caused by a fire, theft or attempted theft. If following a fire or theft, the costs
of restoring the vehicle to its pre claim condition is greater than the pre claim value,
the insurer has the right to declare the vehicle an economic total loss, otherwise known
as 'writing off'. In this instance the owner would be paid the market value of the car
prior to its loss.
Fire claims: please note that insurance policies do not include
mechanical or electrical failures and breakages as part of the claim value. |
Comprehensive
Insurance
This cover is the widest available. (Damage due to wear and tear or depreciation
are excluded in this cover).
In addition to Third Party Fire and Theft, a Comprehensive policy provides cover
for repairs in the event of damage to the vehicle. Other typical benefits would be:-
Personal Accident benefits, payable on death or injury whilst in
the vehicle.
Windscreen
cover, payable on breakage or cracking of glass including resultant scratching, without
loss of no claims bonus.
Rugs
clothing or other personal effects, payable in the event of loss following an accident,
theft or attempted theft of the vehicle.
Audio equipment cover, payable in the
event of loss following an accident, theft or attempted theft of the vehicle.
Medical expenses, payable in
connection to injuries sustained whilst in the vehicle.
Free courtesy car, after the
notification of a claim in which the insured vehicle is not driveable or during repairs.
Free Green card, for vehicles
temporarily being driven abroad.
New car replacement, for vehicles
younger than one year which has been severely damaged and is insured by the
Comprehensive cover.

Home insurance
is one of the most important forms
of insurance Purchased. With over 20 million homes in the UK, and the fact that mortgage
lenders no longer are allowed to insist on buildings being covered before granting a
mortgage, most people have a need to buy Household Insurance at some time. As with any
policy, careful consideration must be given to the correct amount of cover. AS insurance
providers have different prices, benefits and cover limits, the amounts of cover available
will not always be the same and to ensure that the policy you select provides the cover
you require, you should always make comparisons. In the event of
under-insurance a claim could be averaged (this will reduce the size of any payment) or
even refused.
Home insurance has many different components - the main headings are:-
BUILDINGS,
CONTENTS and LIABILITY. (Contents include valuables, personal possesions, clothing
and personal effects.) |
